FIRE EXTINGUISHER SAFETY


Cal OSHA’s regulatory reference is CCR Title 8 Section 6151


 
 

Basic Class
This course is all classroom lecture. Students will be given an in-depth presentation of fire characteristics, types of fires, proper equipment to be used and run through specific scenarios. Students completing this class will gain a comprehensive understanding of fire prevention and protection. No live fire. Class time approximately thirty to forty-five minutes.

Demonstration Class
Students will be given an in-depth presentation of fire characteristics, types of fires, proper equipment to be used and run through specific scenarios. Students completing this class will gain a comprehensive understanding of fire prevention and protection. Following the classroom portion of the class, students will be given the opportunity to operate a real fire extinguisher in a NON-Fire situation. O.S.T.S. can provide extinguishers at a fixed charge per each extinguisher seal broken during class use. Class time approximately forty-five to sixty minutes.


NOTE: Customer must provide adequate area outside for operating extinguishers. Extinguishers will leave a significant amount of powder on the ground that will require cleanup. Vehicles in area should be moved so as not to get covered with powder and other surrounding work environments must be considered for powder impact.
